FB: Realignment does few favors for the CIC

Staff Report

Realignment
will certainly change the look of the tournament path for several CIC teams.
Those changes are bound to make some squads happier than others.

In 3A,
perennial power Eastbrook, and CIC partner Blackford have been moved to a more
northern sectional field. They will play in Sectional 19 along with traditional
northern heavies like defending 3A champion Bellmont, Heritage, Norwell, and
Fort Wayne Concordia. Mississinewa, which had been paired with the two other
CIC teams, will move to Sectional 20. That field includes the likes of Twin
Lakes and West Lafayette.

The 2A teams
in the CIC will also see some changes. Oak Hill and Madison-Grant are probably
not real happy about that. Oak Hill moves from Sectional 26 to 27 where they
will be joined by their Grant County neighbor who comes from Sectional 28. The
new field in Sectional 27 includes Fort Wayne Luers. The remaining three CIC
squads, Elwood, Alexandria, and Frankton will remain in Sectional 28. They
inherit a bully as well. Cass, a state finalist last season moves into that
draw.
