ALEXANDRIA — A seven-run fifth inning catapulted Alexandria to a 10-3 victory
over Cowan in high school softball Thursday.
Each team scored three times in the third inning, then Alex exploded in the
fifth.
Kylie Bishoff led the winners’ nine-hit attack, going 2-for-3 and driving in two
runs. Joni Dent and Mollie DiRuzza each clubbed a double.
Ashlee Jones was the winning pitcher, scattering seven hits while going the
distance for the Lady Tigers.
Alexandria, 2-1, will visit Yorkton on Saturday for a double-header beginning at
11 a.m.

Joining the Core Six in the South game will be Pendleton Heights’ Mur Hagerman,
Mooresville’s Maegan Callaway, Indian Creek’s Kylee Hamilton, Evansville
Harrison’s Khristian Hart, Hagerstown’s Katelyn Lakes and Austin’s Katy
McIntosh.
Junior All-Stars Coach will be Fort Wayne Elmhurst’s Mark Redding, assisted by
Mooresville’s Mark Hurt and Gibson Southern’s Mark Monroe.
