SB: Sectitonal draw not overly kind to CIC teams

Staff Report

Perhaps it
never is, but the sectional draw was not overly kind to CIC teams. It includes
two head-to-head match-ups between league teams. Here is a quick look at how
the squads fared.

In 3A at
Blackford, the host Bruins share the favorite mantle with Mississinewa.
Blackford drew CIC rival Eastbrook in the opening game of the tourney.
Mississinewa drew Delta in the bye round. The advantage here is clearly with
the Indians. They would not see Blackford until the final and will have less
stress on the pitching staff.

Madison-Grant
got much the better of it at Eastern. M-G opens action versus Tipton. The other
CIC entrant, Oak Hill, received the unenviable task of chopping down the host
Comets. That is never an easy task. Madison-Grant also drew into the other half
of the bracket and would not see either of those two squads until the final.

Frankton and
Elwood is the other head-to-head CIC first round match-up. That will take place
at the Frankton Sectional. Alexandria will play the winner if the Tigers can
get past Lapel. The other power in the field, Wapahani, drew into the bye round
