Staff Report
The 600lb.
gorilla was loose and playing in the CIC again this spring. A state finalist
one year ago, the Elwood Panthers roared through their conference schedule to
claim the CIC crown again this season. They finished the campaign 7-0 in league
play and 19-3 overall headed into the tourney.
Oak Hill
emerged from the pack to take second in the conference chase with a 5-2 record.
The Golden Eagles are 15-7 overall for the regular season. Blackford took third
with a 4-3 league slate.
Behind the
top three squads, things got very jumbled. Eastbrook, Madison-Grant, and
Alexandria tied for fourth in the race with 3-4 conference records while
Mississinewa and Frankton closed the CIC campaign with marks of 1-6.
