After two
difficult weeks of non-conference play, CIC teams began league play last Friday
night. The conference went just 3-13 against non-conference foes. Entering
league play, only Eastbrook sported a perfect slate.
That didn’t
change Friday. The Panthers put a serious 55-7 hurtin’ on a struggling Oak Hill
squad. The verdict left the Golden Eagles still looking for their first victory
of the 09’ campaign. Madison-Grant also looked impressive, easily downing
Mississinewa 28-3. That left the Argylls 2-1 for the year. Mississinewa is
still looking for its first triumph of the season.
Blackford
picked up its first win of the season. The Bruins thwarted Alexandria 33-14,
leaving the Tigers winless on the campaign. Finally, Frankton won the Madison
County rivalry with Elwood. The final between the two teams looking for initial
wins was 21-6.
Pretenders
will get separated quickly. The four winners from last week play each other
this Friday night. Blackford visits Madison-Grant while Eastbrook travels to
Frankton.
